FreeWay Number Two

Aloha,
What are you grateful for today?

I am grateful for:

-laughter
-innocence
-and the beautiful cleansing rain today (wash away that vog!)

Have you taken time today to relax? I hope you enjoyed it.

Today.....

FreeWay Number Two

Most people never use the lower lobes of their lungs. The tension we talked about yesterday just won't allow the expansion of this lung tissue.

Certainly until you begin to let go of some of this stored tension, it will be difficult to make any progress in improving your lung function. If you have really given your best effort to achieving a state of relaxation, then go ahead and sigh just as deeply as you can.

Can you feel your diaphram fall? Visualize your left lower lobe inflating behind your stomach, as your right lower lobe inflates behind your liver. Pay attention and you will notice that you are pulled back as those lower lobes push your lower bowel out. Put your hand on your stomach if it helps. It may actually take some work to fully utilize your lung volume.

If you manage a good sigh 30-40 times each day, then at the very least you will strengthen your respiratory muscles. Hopefully you will improve your lung capacity as well.

Until tomorrow, relax and take a nice deep breath or two.
